First time review Yummy experience from start to finish! The food was five stars because every dish had flavor and was presented beautifully. The atmosphere was clean, thoughtfully designed, and welcoming. And the service? Outstanding. Our waitress was friendly, warm, and genuinely personable. We felt right at home and she went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. Five stars across the board! If you haven’t been, GO!

The food here was delicious! We were visiting for a wedding and we're glad we stopped here for breakfast. Our server was very nice. We ordered oatmeal that came with an English muffin, an order of pancakes (3 huge pancakes), side of fruit and homemade biscuit. The place was clean and lively.
Absolutely love this place! We make the drive over from Newport News to Smithfield just to come to The Cockeyed Rooster for brunch. The food is always fantastic, highly suggest the biscuits and gravy & red velvet pancakes (yes, you read that right.. yum!). Service is great, we've never had a problem with any of the waitstaff- they're all super nice and friendly. The ambiance is the perfect brunch spot with fun wall decor, and yes, fair warning: it's all crooked so don't bring your friends with OCD here. I'll definitely continue to go back!
I'm not a local, but I def got a locals vibe from this place upon entering. I was greeted warmly by the hostess and seated promptly. My server Jaclyn was really nice and accommodating. I asked her what she liked best between the pork chops or the classic French toast breakfast and she recommended the latter. It was really good. The fresh squeezed orange juice was immaculate. My only slight complaint were my eggs were definitely over easy and not over medium like i requested. I didn't ask for new ones tho, but I'm sure they would have corrected the mistake if I brought it to their attention. I was pretty much full and there was no need to get a replacement. I would def come by again if in the area.
Our Sunday morning spot!! Great breakfast and perfect for sipping your coffee in a Sunday after church and recapping your weekend. There are several favorite dishes, such as the JRB Benedict, the California omelet, and the pancake combo! A definite must in Smithfield! Katie is the best server and my girl for every week to come!
A friend and I stopped in for lunch. It is nice that you have the option of breakfast or lunch options. The staff was incredibly nice and attentive. The food was delicious and with generous portions. The French Fries are to die for. The decor was interesting. Not sure how I feel about about the huge Taylor Swift cut out. The only thing that could make this place better is if they served Bloody Mary’s!
I finally got a chance to try this restaurant. Although I've looked at photos of the place before, I was surprised how big it is inside. Fortunately, I also arrived in between the breakfast and lunch rushes so I was seated immediately. For my meal, I chose the corned beef hash skillet for its diced corned beef. I've only ever eaten the ground type, so theirs not being greasy earned it bonus points. And after seeing another diner's order of French fries go by, I know I'll have to try them for lunch next time.
